ACADEMIC MEMBERSHIP AND JOURNALISM PROGRAM DIRECTORY

New England colleges, universities and high schools may apply for Academic Membership with the New England Newspaper & Press Association. Academic members have access to services including New England Better Newspaper Competition College Division, internship listings, job listings, resume reviews, photography portfolio reviews, Conference and Convention attendance, Webinar access, networking opportunities, and more. All Academic Members are also entitled to an upgraded listing in the Journalism Program Directory to promote your undergraduate and graduate programs.

JOURNALISM EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF NEW ENGLAND SCHOLARSHIPS

The New England Newspaper and Press Association awards up to 10 scholarships each year to aspiring journalists through the Journalism Education Foundation of New England. Our foundation strives to encourage and support young people who plan to pursue a career in the journalism. College students or high school seniors who are studying and acquiring experience that will prepare them to work in the field of journalism are eligible to apply.

NEW ENGLAND HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISM COLLABORATIVE

Founded in 1987, the New England High School Journalism Collaborative has introduced hundreds of high school students to the field of journalism, through workshops and programs that let students work directly with professional reporters, photographers, and editors from area newspapers.

The Collaborative’s key program is a week-long workshop in June during which a select group of students gather for a week and produce a laboratory newspaper and a multimedia site. This is an all-expense paid program, sponsored in part by Regis College, and in partnership with The Boston Globe.
