SPJNE Zoom Series: Journalism Commission Study 101 Webinar

Join the New England Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists as Jason Pramas and Massachusetts State Representative Lori Ehrlich breakdown what it means now that a journalism commission study will be conducted as required by law.

This will be a 101 Webinar of sorts that will be broadcasted via Facebook Live and Zoom.

Jason Pramas is executive director of the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism and executive editor and assistant publisher of DigBoston newspaper. A photojournalist, educator, and artist, he holds an MFA in visual arts and is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. Pramas organized a grassroots support campaign for the MA journalism commission law among journalists, local independent news outlets, and college journalism departments statewide.

Representative Lori Ehrlich, who represents Marblehead, Swampscott, and Lynn, last session filed β€œAn Act establishing a commission to study journalism in underserved communities,” which was passed into law as a part of the Economic Development Bond Bill.
